§ Sir George YoungFrom April 1979 to September 1982, about 428,000 dwellings were sold by local authorities, new towns and housing associations in Great Britain, the great majority to sitting tenants, and, as my hon. Friend the Minister for Housing and Construction said today to my hon. Friend the Member for Christchurch and Lymington (Mr. Adley), we estimate that the number of sales is now approaching half a million.
