§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will arrange for the bonus payable to first-time house buyers, under the Home Purchase Assistance and Housing Corporation Guarantee Act 1978, to be increased from £110 to £250, and the loan ceiling to be increased from £600 to £2,000.
§ Mr. Wyn RobertsThere are no plans to do so at present. The introduction of a range of low cost home ownership schemes, in addition to the continuation of the home loan scheme, seems likely to be more effective in assisting first-time buyers.
