HC Deb 10 February 1983 vol 36 c437W
27. Mr. Parker

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether and when he will issue a statement of his policy towards the development of continuing education.

Mr. William Shelton

We are at present considering the report by the Advisory Council for Adult and Continuing Education on the policies and priorities for the development of continuing education, but I cannot say when we shall be able to make a statement. In the meantime I remind the hon. Member that the Government have already made clear the particular importance they attach to that aspect of continuing education which is concerned with the updating of professional, industrial and commercial skills.
