§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will make a statement on the reasons for the decision to pay £100 to each civil servant who has his salary paid by credit transfer rather than by cash, including those who are at present being paid by cheque; whether this will lead to a saving to the Exchequer; and whether he will make the arrangements available to all Government employees.
