§ Rev. Martin Smythasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he is yet in a position to announce his proposals for implementing article 8 of the Disabled Persons (NI) Order 1982.
§ Mr. David MitchellFollowing similar action in England and Wales and in Scotland, the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland will issue shortly a consultation letter inviting views on a draft building regulation to require new buildings to provide for the needs of the disabled. I believe that this approach would be more effective than implementing article 8 of the Disabled Persons (Northern Ireland) Order 1982.
