§ Mr. WigginSeventeen anti-nuclear protesters climbed over the fence at the Clyde submarine base on the afternoon of 15 January and staged a demonstration on a perimeter observation post, but were unable to go further due to the presence of the Ministry of Defence police. As they were not ready to leave of their own accord, the Ministry of Defence police took appropriate action to remove them and to hand them over to the Strathclyde police who brought charges.
