Mr. Tom Cox

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what has been the number of convictions in the United Kingdom during each of the last three years for soliciting for prostitution.

The available information for England and Wales is published annually in "Criminal Statistics, England and Wales" (volume 1 of the Supplementary Tables for 1982—offence classification 166 in table S t. 1(A)).

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1)what has been the number of convictions at magistrates' courts in the Greater London Council area during each of the last three years for offences concerning prostitution; and if he will list the offences;

(2) what has been the number of people convicted of living on the immoral earnings of prostitution for each of the last three years at magistrates' courts covering the Greater London council area; and how many people have been sent to prison following conviction.
