Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what are the estimated costs and income from the issue of travel documents by his Department during 1983–84 and 1984–85.

Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many travel documents were issued by his Department during each of the years 1978–79, 1979–80, and 1982–83 to (a) refugees under the 1951 convention, (b) stateless people under the 1954 convention and (c) other people not covered by either of these conventions.

The numbers of travel documents issued for the first time in each of these three years were as follows:
