HC Deb 20 December 1983 vol 51 c183W
Mr. Farr

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in relation to his initiative to be undertaken in the new year jointly with the Department of Education and Science on the dual use of school playing field facilities, we will undertake to make whatever provision may be necessary to secure the continued use of Glenmere county primary school playing field facilities, Wigston, and prevent their development for building purposes.

Mr. Macfarlane

[pursuant to his reply, 19 December 1983): While I would hope that recreation needs would be among the considerations affecting the use of surplus school land, it is for local education and planning authorities to reach decisions on individual cases.
