HL Deb 19 December 1983 vol 446 c584WA
The Lord Bishop of Rochester

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they are satisfied that the proposal to divide up the pioneer geriatric unit at the Lennard Hospital, Bromley, which has been a model for similar units elsewhere, will ensure that the level of excellence in the care of the elderly will he maintained.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health and Social Security (Lord Glenarthur)

I understand that Bromley Health Authority plans to undertake formal consultations on a proposal for a permanent transfer of the Lennard Hospital's services to other hospitals in the district. At this stage it would not be appropriate for Ministers to prejudge the outcome of these consultations.
