HC Deb 13 December 1983 vol 50 c391W
Mr. Dubs

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether any Metropolitan police officers have been on duty at Greenham Common during each of the last two years; what has been the cost; and who has paid for their services.

Mr. Hurd

Up to 30 October 1983, the Metropolitan police had provided mutual aid to the Thames Valley police for duty at Greeham Common on only two occasions: from 30 March to 2 April 1983 and from 4 to 9 July 1983. The total additional cost involved, which was met by the Thames Valley police, was £14,000. I shall write to the hon. Member about the cost of the further aid which has been provided since 31 October, when this information is available.
