asked the Secretary of State for Transport what priority he now intends to afford to the bypasses of villages on the A419–A417 route from Swindon to Gloucester, in view of his decisions regarding the future use of the Severn bridge.

As respects Gloucestershire, I have nothing to add to the answer I have given to the hon. Gentleman today.

As respects Wiltshire, we will be improving the road between Blunsdon and Crickland in our main programme April 1985 to March 1987; work on the Latton bypass is currently suspended, and I cannot say now when it may prove possible to restore this scheme to the active programme.
