The total numbers of appointments to executive and advisory bodies, tribunals and other bodies for which I am responsible was 2,906 in 1981–82 and 2,608 at 1 July 1983. Details of 1981–82 are contained in the HMSO publication "Public Bodies 1982". The 1983 edition has yet to be published.
