asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will give details of when and what items were included in national newspapers, magazines and journals and on national radio and television channels in pursuit of the national publicity campaign to increase public awareness of the misuse of air weapons launched on 8 November.
§ Mr. Hurd
The publicity material for the campaign comprises 750,000 leaflets produced for distribution by police, the gun trade and voluntary organisations supported by 150,000 posters, two television filler films which have been distributed to all ITV stations, BBC TV, TV-AM and some cable stations and three radio tapes which have been sent to all radio stations in England and Wales.
Because of the emphasis on local activity, however, it is not possible to gain a complete picture of the coverage which the campaign is receiving in the form suggested by my hon. Friend.
