§ Mr. Soamesasked the Secretary of State for Transport what guidance he has given to the metropolitan county councils and the Greater London council under the provisions of the Transport Act 1983 about protected levels of revenue support to public transport in the next financial year.
§ Mr. RidleyI have given these authorities guidance, under the provisions of section 4(5) of the Transport Act 1983, that the maximum amounts of revenue grants which it would in my opinion be appropriate for them to make in the year beginning 1 April 1984 are:
