§ Mr. WhitneyThere are regular consultations within the Ten on the terrorist threat to foreign diplomats. But it is the responsibility of the authorities in each country to 177W determine and provide the level of protection needed in each case. The Royalty and Diplomatic Protection Department and the Special Branch of the Metropolitan police are responsible for the protection of all foreign diplomats. Protection is kept under constant review and is maintained at a level commensurate with the degree of threat.
