§ Sir David Priceasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he has yet been informed by Southampton university of an appointment to the Europe chair of rehabilitation.
§ Mr. John PattenYes. I have been informed that Southampton university has made an appointment to the chair and the new Professor Dr. D. L. McLellan is expected to take up the post before spring. The Department and the Southampton and south-west Hampshire health authority is to provide substantial financial support to increase the clinical back-up facilities available to the professor. The chair will provide a national focus for developing rehabilitation services and influence the teaching and practice of rehabilitation medicine.
