§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if staff of the Greater London council and metropolitan counties, subsequently employed elsewhere in local government following the abolition of their present employing authority, will be eligible to receive redundancy payments.
§ Mr. Patrick JenkinThe effect of the Employment Protection (Consolidation) Act 1978, as amended, is that, when an officer moves from one authority to another within local government service without a break in employment, continuity of service is preserved and there is no entitlement to a redundancy payment.
