§ Mrs. ChalkerThe Transport Act 1980 paved the way for the introduction of public service vehicle operator licensing in April 1981, and the statutory annual public service vehicle test in January 1982. Both these measures have helped with the improvement of maintenance and safety standards throughout the bus and coach industry, which are kept under constant review by my Department.
