§ Mr. Simsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make a statement on the recruitment of women to the Metropolitan police in the light of the findings in the Policy Studies Institute report.
§ Mr. BrittanThe Commissioner has told me that he will drop the 10 per cent. quota on the recruitment of women and will review his recruitment policies as a matter of urgency. I welcome this decision.
