HL Deb 27 April 1983 vol 441 c1038WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What progress has been made to date in determining the appropriate criteria for disqualification in the future from election to the House of Commons.

The Lord Privy Seal (Baroness Young)

Any changes in the provisions for disqualification from the House of Commons are, of course, a matter for that House. However, my right honourable friend the Leader of that House did, last year, commission a review by officials of the working of the present legislation. It is hoped to publish a factual analysis from that work in due course.
