HC Deb 26 April 1983 vol 41 c314W
Mr. Deakins

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what proposals the EC has made in respect of harmonisation of laws relating to medicated feeding stuffs; what changes would be required in United Kingdom legislation; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Fenner

A proposal for an EC Council directive on the manufacture, putting into circulation and supply of medicated animal feeding stuffs within the Community was submitted by the Commission to the Council in January 1982.

This draft directive in its present form would require limited amendment to the Medicines Act, but, as it has not yet been discussed in Brussels, the precise nature of such amendments cannot be predicted.
