HC Deb 26 April 1983 vol 41 cc299-300W
20. Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what estimates he has made of the demand by girls for places in further education colleges in 1983–84.

Mr. William Shelton

It is expected that for England in 1983–84, there will be a total of 550,000 full-time equivalent places in non-advanced further education.

About half of these will be taken by girls.
