§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many psychogeriatric hospital places in Scotland there are; and which health authorities provide no such places.
§ Mr. John MacKayAlthough some of the facilities for the care of patients with mental disability are designated as psychogeriatric places, the majority of elderly patients are treated in other mental illness beds, and figures are not collected which would identify a specific number of places used for psychogeriatric purposes. The majority of patients resident in mental hospitals and psychiatric units in Scotland are over 65 years old.
