asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he can report further on proposals to review the method of costing firearms fees following his meeting with the British Shooting Sports Council.

I informed the BSSC at a meeting on 11 October that this is one of the matters which will be considered by the forthcoming joint Home Office/ACPO working party. I announced the establishment of this working party and its terms of reference in answer to a question by my hon. Friend the Member for Harborough (Mr. Farr) on 28 July.
