§ 37. Sir John Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will give an assurance that in his consideration of the report of the Select Committee on Transport he will take account of the case for greater uniformity in any concessionary fares granted in Greater London and the adjoining districts of Essex and other contiguous counties within the purview of the report.
§ Mr. Eyre:No. We do not believe that the desire for uniform benefits outweighs the advantages of leaving local authorities the discretion to decide their own concessionary fare schemes.
