§ Mr. Ernie Rossasked the Prime Minister if she will now amend the Health Services Act 1980 to remove the cash limit budget restrictions on health authorities and health boards.
§ The Prime Minister:No. The Act requires health authorities and health boards to contain their expenditure within the total sums allotted to them by the health departments and other income they receive. This is an entirely reasonable and necessary financial control.
