§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Prime Minister whether there are any criteria upon which pictures for the official rooms at No. 10 Downing Street are chosen; and from what sources they may be drawn.
§ The Prime Minister:My aim has been to have in No. 10 pictures by British artists and, also, pictures which are representative of the nation's history, achievements and its great men and women.
Pictures are on loan from a number of sources, including the Government art collection, museums and galleries, societies and private collectors.
