§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether his attention has been drawn to the recent report of the British Medical Association that boxing should be banned by law; and whether he will take action to introduce legislation to ban boxing, Rugby football, soccer, motor racing, cliff climbing and mountaineering and all sports and entertainment where danger, injury and the possibility of death to the participants may occur.
§ Mr. Macfarlane:The BMA has not been in touch with me over this report. I am, however, aware of its existence and its general recommendations.
I have no intention of introducing legislation to ban any form of sport.
