§ Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the latest estimate of the possible clawback due to the pension increase being ahead of the latest inflation rate.
§ Mr. RossiThis November's increase of 11 percent was based on a forecast of a 9 per cent. rise in prices in the 12 months to November. The actual rise in prices will not be known until mid-December, but the available figures to October suggest that it will be below 7 percent. Decisions on the level of increase in social security benefits in November 1983 will not be taken until the time of the next Budget.
