HC Deb 29 November 1982 vol 33 c88W
Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Transport, further to the statement by the Under-Secretary of State for Transport, Official Report, 24 June, c. 515, how many of the new dynamic weighbridges have been installed in Wales; where these are located; and what percentage of lorries which they have tested has failed to comply with present regulations.

Mr. Eyre

Three dynamic axle weighbridges have been brought into operation in Wales in the last 18 months—at Henllan (A40), Coldra (off M4 near Newport) and Holyhead (A5). Further sites are under consideration. Of the 15,382 vehicles stopped at these sites in the period 1 January to 30 September 1982, 4,731 were suspected and weighed; 9 per cent. of those weighed were overloaded.
