§ Mr. McMahonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what report he has received on the vessel "Bay-Fisher", at present undergoing repairs at Clydedock Engineering Company, Govan, Glasgow; and if he is satisfied that no threat is posed to the local population from radioactive waste.
§ Mr. Allan StewartIt has been reported to me that the quantity of radioactive waste resulting from the repairs to the vessel "Bay-Fisher" will be extremely small The waste poses no threat to the local population. It will be disposed of by sending it to British Nuclear Fuels Ltd. in acordance with an authorisation granted by the Secretary of State under the Radioactive Substances Act 1960.
