§ Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the present relations between Her Majesty's Government and Turkey.
§ Mr. HurdWe have close and friendly links with Turkey as a fellow member of the Atlantic Alliance. We welcome the progress made by Turkey in the return to democracy. Our relations continue to be guided by the statement issued by the Foreign Ministers of the then Nine member States of the European Community on 15 September 1980.
§ Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether the Turkish Government have made an application to join the European Economic Community.
