§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer to what level the tax thresholds could be raised (a) for a single person and (b) for a married couple, assuming that such thresholds remain in the same relationship to each other if the full year costs were (i) £1,000 million, (ii) £2,000 million, (iii) £3,000 million, (iv) £4,000 million, (v) £5,000 million and (vi) £10,000 million.
