§ Mr. RaisonThe total number of people accepted for settlement in the United Kingdom was about 70,000 in both 1978 and 1979. The latest published figures show that total settlement in the 12 months to 30 June 1982 had fallen to about 54,000, a drop of around a quarter from the 1979 level.
