§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Prime Minister whether she will institute a campaign in the Civil Service to encourage civil servants as private individuals to purchase British goods, especially cars; and if she will make a statement.
§ The Prime MinisterI hope that civil servants as well as other members of the British public will look carefully at what British industry has to offer before buying cars or any other goods for their private use. Where British goods are well made and competitively priced I hope they will buy them. The Government follow the same principles in their purchasing policy.
