§ Mr. Raceasked the Solicitor-General for Scotland if he will list those topics on which it is not his practice to answer parliamentary questions; and if he will list any changes in practice in respect of the Lord Advocate's departmental responsibilities since 9 November 1979.
The Solicitor-General for ScotlandThere is no topic within the ministerial responsibility of my noble and learned Friend the Lord Advocate on which as a matter of practice I am not prepared to answer parliamentary questions. However, there are certain areas where I would be prepared to give only limited information—for example, legal advice which my noble and learned Friend has given to a Government Department; and cases currently being investigated.
