§ Mr. Greenwayasked the Secretary of State for Transport whether in view of the likely disturbance to people in the residential areas affected by his alternative eastbound route for lorries with a gross weight over 32.5 tonnes on the A40, he will propose an alternative replacement route or take steps to publicise the extent of compensation available to the households concerned, supplementing such compensation by ex gratia payments if necessary.
