§ Mrs. ChalkerThe Department provided £50,000 in 1981–82 to fund the innovatory aspects of a number of local authority cycle schemes. In addition the local authority expenditure on these schemes was supported through transport supplementary grant. This programme of schemes is being expanded in 1982–83 and succeeding years.
