(2) if he will give details of any discussions in which his Department is participating at present taking place in Europe on the question of reducing air pollution.

§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what research projects into air pollution have been financed by his Department in 1981–82 and at what cost; and what projects are to be financed in 1982–83 and at what cost.
§ Mr. Giles ShawThe programme for 1981–82 was divided into four main project areas:
£K Abatement and dispersion 607 Measurement, interpretation and assessment 800 Atmospheric chemistry 507 Effects on vegetation 64 The total cost was approximately £2 million.
The work in these areas will continue in 1982–83 at a cost of approximately £1.6 million 1982–83 prices, with changes in the balance of the programme which have yet to be fully decided.
