§ Q55. Mr. Greenwayasked the Prime Minister if, in addition to the plans set out on 19 February, Official Report, c. 261, Her Majesty's Government will now add £1 sterling for every £1 sterling raised by voluntary bodies as aid for the Polish people.
§ The Prime MinisterThe Government have already provided financial and other assistance, both nationally and through the European Community, to help the efforts of those voluntary and Church agencies providing humanitarian aid to Poland. While we remain willing in principle and within the limits of the resources available to continue to do what we can to help, I cannot accept the proposal made by my hon. Friend.
