§ Mr. Donald Stewartasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will initiate a large-scale survey in Scottish cities to determine lead levels in the atmosphere, with particular reference to the areas around primary schools.
§ Mr. YoungerI see no present justification for such a survey. It is open to individual local authorities, in the exercise of their responsibilities for environmental health, to undertake monitoring if they consider there to be a need in any specific location.
