§ Mr. Marlow
asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the effect on the United Kingdom of the judgment of the European Court of Human Rights on corporal punishment in schools.
§ Dr. Boyson
As I said in reply to a question by the hon. Member for Wolverhampton, North-East (Mrs. Short) on 4 March 1982—[Vol. 19, c. 227.]—the Government are 483W considering the court's judgment and its implications; and my right hon. Friend will take no action without consultations with all interested parties.
