asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish the total amounts payable under the Civil List Acts in the financial year 1982–83 and total amounts payable to the Royal Family in the calendar years 1981–82.

The total amount proposed for the financial year 1982–83 is £4,710,000 comprising £1,775,000 payable directly from the Consolidated Fund and £2,935,000 as provision for the Royal Trustees from the Vote for economic and financial administration: Treasury (Class XIII, Vote 4). These sums compare respectively with £4,355,000, £1,755,000 and £2,600,000 for the financial year 1981–82. The increase in total is 8.1 per cent.
