§ Mr. Austin Mitchellasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will publish in the Official Report a table showing (a) the products which are restricted under the procedure described in paragraph 8 of annex 1 to the memorandum submitted by his Department to the Select Committee of the House of Lords on the European Communities, published with its second report on agricultural trade policy—HL 29, Session 1981–82(b) the volume and value of United Kingdom imports of the restricted items from the countries in question in the latest year and before the United Kingdom joined the Common Market, (c) the value of the products imported at less than the reference price and (d) the amount collected by way of countervailing duty.
§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithParagraph 8 of annex 1 to the memorandum referred to by the hon. Member refers to the so-called "safeguard clauses" in the regulations on the common organisation of markets for agricultural products. There are no products whose import into the United Kingdom is currently restricted under such safeguard clauses.
