§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, in view of the fact that on 19 February Malcolm Sherman was sentenced to life imprisonment at Winchester Crown court for the sexual assault and murder of Mrs. Marion Hansford, and that this man, with a record of 76 sex offences had been released from Dartmoor only three months ago, he will make an investigation into the circumstances of his premature release.
§ Mr. MayhewMalcolm Ronald Sherman was released from Dartmoor prison on 12 June 1981 having served his full sentence of two years' imprisonment, less remission in accordance with prison rule 5. He was not released prematurely.
