All Motorways Dual-carriageway Trunk Roads 1977 — 5.1 1978 9.1 1.1 1979 — 2.4 1980 13.1 — 1981 6.8 7.3 In addition, a further 5.5 miles of motorway and 4 miles of dual-carriageway trunk road will be completed during 1982.
Apart from motorways, figures are not available centrally for roads, which are the responsibility of the local highway authorities.
