§ Mr. Colvinasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will investigate ways of speeding up the decision-making process of the Procurement Executive in the light of experience gained in action taken in this area during the Falklands conflict.

Friend said in his foreword to the statement on the Defence Estimates 1982 (Cmnd. 8529), we shall be looking closely at all aspects of the Falklands operations to see what lessons can be learnt. The procedures of the Procurement Executive will, where appropriate, be included among the subjects of these studies.
