§ The Prime MinisterThe powers of the civil commissioner and the military commissioner in the Falkland Islands and the dependencies are specified in the Falkland Islands and Dependencies (Interim Administration) Order 1982, which was made on 18 June 1982 and laid before Parliament on the same day. Broadly speaking, the civil commissioner will exercise the functions formerely exercised by the governor, except that on matters of defence or internal security he will act in accordance with the advice given by the military commissioner.
