Mr. Stevens

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will arrange for an exhibition relating to the Festival of India to be displayed in the Upper Waiting Hall.

The all-party committee on the Festival of India has asked that an exhibition of photographs entitled "India Today" should be displayed in the Upper Waiting Hall during the week beginning Monday 28 June. The Festival of India is an exciting cultural event and I welcome this initiative by the all-party committee.

I have agreed to lend my name as sponsor of the "India Today" exhibition and my right hon. Friend the Member for Mid-Oxon (Mr. Hurd) has agreed to attend the opening ceremony.
